Serafina
Vavala President
Serafina Vavala began volunteering with the HRPWT Executive Board in
2002 as the Student Liaison Director and for the 2010-2011 year she
is transitioning to the role of President. Serafina graduated with an
Honours Degree in Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of
Western Ontario and completed her Human Resources Management Certificate
from Humber College. She recently earned her CHRP designation.
Serafina is employed as a Human Resources Consultant
with the CIBC and has primarily worked as a generalist with employee
and labour relations focus over her career.
Louise Sullivan
Vice President
Louise Sullivan began volunteering with the HRPWT Executive Board in
2006 and has held such positions as Programs Director, Communications
Director and most recently Vice President. She has a Bachelor of Social
Work and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Certificate in
Human Resources Management. She obtained her CHRP designation in 2004.
Louise is currently a Human Resources Business
Partner at Candu Energy Inc,. a subsidiary of SNC Lavalin. For over
14 years her career has provided the opportunity to gain experience
in many aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee
and organizational development, strategic HR planning, employee relations,
rewards and recognition program implementation, compensation, benefits,
health and safety and organizational change.
Caron
Hartogsveld, CHRP, Treasurer
Caron Hartogsveld began volunteering on the HRPWT
Executive in 2006, serving one year as Secretary before assuming her
current role of Treasurer. Caron has a Bachelor of Human Resource Management
from York University and completed her CHRP in October 2009.
Human Resources is a second career for Caron.
She has a deep interest in Labour / Employee Relations, as well as employment
opportunities for disabled workers in the workforce. Caron’s current
works in Human Resources at Nestlé Canada.
Andrea Stroz
Secretary
Andrea Stroz began volunteering with the HRPWT
in 2010. This is the first time she has been part of the HRPWT executive
team. Andrea has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario
and has her CHRP designation.
Andrea has worked as a generalist in various
industries, including telecommunications, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals
and information technology. Andrea is currently the Human Resources
Manager for NCI.
Josie Martiniello
Program Director
Josie Martiniello currently holds the position of Program Director on
the HRPWT Executive Board and has been a volunteer since 2009. She earned
a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Human Resources Management. She
received her CHRP designation in 2008.
Louise Kyprianou
Membership Director
Louise Kyprianou has been a member of the HRPWT Executive Board since
2008, where she began in the Secretary role. Louise joins the Membership
Director role for the 2010–2011 year. Currently holding Bachelor
of Human Resources Management, and working towards a certificate in
Training & Development, Louise is committed to ongoing learning.
Her career has provided the opportunity to gain experience in various
aspects of human resources including recruitment, training and development
and policy implementation.
Louise works for GoodLife Fitness as a Recruitment
Team Lead and recently obtained her CHRP designation in 2009.
Heather Wannamaker,
CHRP, Communications Director
Heather Wannamaker began volunteering on the HRPWT
Executive Committee as the Membership Director in 2007. She transitioned
from Membership to the Communications Director role in 2010. Heather
has also volunteered as a member of the Ultimate HR Manual Customer
Advisory Board.
Heather graduated with her diploma in Human Resources Management and
has also obtained certificates in Human Resources and Business Management
studies. She obtained her CHRP designation in 2009. Heather is a Human
Resources Consultant who recently completed a 3-year contract at Associated
Brands, one of North America’s largest suppliers of Private Label
food products, and is currently enjoying a consultancy role at the Donald
Group, a leader in the construction industry.

Michelle
Corrado-Triassi Student Liaison Director
Michelle Corrado-Triassi began volunteering with the HRPWT Executive
Board in the role of Program Director in 2007 and transferred to the
Student Liaison Director portfolio in 2010. Her education includes a
Bachelor of Administrative Studies and a Certificate in Human Resources
Management. She obtained her CHRP designation in 2004.
Michelle is currently the Human Resources Manager
at Giftcraft.
Joanna
Lekka Mentorship Director
Joanna Lekka began volunteering with the HRPWT in 2010. This is the
first time she has been part of the HRPWT executive team. Joanna has
a Bachelor of Human Resources Management from York University and has
recently earned her CHRP designation.
Joanna is currently the Human Resources Generalist for Northwest Protection
Services Ltd.
